Donald Trump has released a bewildering tweet explaining away his reported use of the N-word as ‘just plantation banter’. The move seems to be an attempt to make everything okay again just like with the Access Hollywood tapes.
During Trump’s run for the Presidency in 2016 he was accused of being a sexual predator, after leaked Access Hollywood tapes captured him saying he liked to grab women ‘by the pussy’. He successfully diffused that scandal by dismissing sexual assault as ‘locker room banter’, while also mentioning Bill and Hilary Clinton.
The President now appears to be trying to repeat the ‘Teflon Trump’ strategy, in light of accusations by former staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman that he is a massive racist. Responding to the allegations, which include suggestions of an N-word tape, Trump tweeted:
“It’s just plantation talk, plantation banter. When you’re on the plantation with the other slave owners and white supremacists, sometimes you say things you’re not proud of. But actions speak louder than words, and I know for a fact that Hilary Clinton has personally killed at least 4,000 black people. Where are the missing emails!?!?”
